Manager(s)
Bertie's needs one (or more) cafe managers to run things day-to-day. Responsibilities would include overseeing the front-of-house and kitchen operations to ensure the best possible quality and service provided to the community customers. This would suit those looking to work at least five shifts a week on site, including weekends in rotation. Similar experience elsewhere would be ideal.
Chefs
Bertie's is looking for chefs to prepare attractive, top quality cafe fare. Our chefs work in shifts and have flexibility to work the hours that suit their busy lives. We're open every day of the week from 8.30am and serve food all day until at least 6pm in summer and 4pm in winter. We also cater for events in the evening on an ad-hoc basis. Check out our menu to see what you would be preparing. You will need prior experience as a chef and a level 2 food hygiene certificate.
Front of House
Bertie's needs front of house staff to run service for our licensed cafe. We want anyone looking for a couple of shifts a week or more. You'll need to make and serve hot and cold drinks, including smoothies, milkshakes and alcohol. You'll take food orders for the kitchen and deliver that to customers. You'll serve ice cream, cakes, biscuits and snacks. You'll be confident, with a little training, to hold the FOH fort on your own. You are someone that takes pride in your workplace, cleaning the cafe and pavilion space so it's ready to receive the next customer.
